Services for Stephen Kyle Harper, 44, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Melvin Jones officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted at Memorial Park Cemetery by Alford-Clarke Post No.852 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Harper died Saturday, June 10, 1995 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 9, 1950 at Butler, MO, the son of Theron J. and Dixie Deems Harper. A salesman for Deems Farm Equipment in Lawrence, Mr. Harper was a longtime resident of Lawrence who graduated for Lawrence High School in 1968.
He was a U. S. Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam. He was discharged on February 15, 1972 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr Harper was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying.
He married Barbara A. Cheek on September 2, 1989 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his parents of Lawrence; two sons, Branden Harper, Eudora and Heath Morris, Lawrence; five daughters, Jeanne Harper, Julie Harper, Jennifer Harper and Penny Morris, all of Lawrence, and Dawn Whitney Harper, Eudora; two brothers, Kevin Harper, Eudora, and Rod Harper, Lawrence; two sisters, Kathy Marshall and Libby Renick, both of Lawrence; his grandmother, Ethyl Harper, Amoret, MO; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at Warren McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assiciation in care of the funeral home.
