Don Rake's obituary

Services for Donald D. Rake, 48, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Rake died Saturday, September 18, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka from injuries he received in a motorcycle accident on U. S. Highway 24 near Perry.

He was born September 25, 1050 in Lawrence, the son of Wilbur and Dorothy Farrier Rake.

He was a lifelong Lawrence resident and a 1968 Lawrence High School graduate. Mr. Rake was employed at the Kmart Distribution Center for 27 years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Harley Owner's Group of Topeka.

He married Nancy Woods on November 12, 1971, in Lawrence. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Kelly Rake and Rachel Rake, both of the home; his father, Lawrence; and a brother, Ron, Baldwin.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the Donald D. Rake Children's Education Fund, in care of the mortuary.
